Portraiture

"Life is once, forever." — quote by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Portrait needs vary widely in complexity from one client to the next, and although Session Fees are based on packages, what clients are truly buying is an experience. Ranging from headshots to formal portraits, or from individuals to groups, we can arrange a time and place to meet to review the portraiture you need, determine a time frame, and create a work agreement. Whether you prefer to have portaiture created on-location, in-studio, or both, please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions. This page explains portrait services offered and displays samples in the Quandam Client Gallery below.

The Senior Annual Package

Fall 2017 | Bookings Available 28August to 29October Only

Mondays & Wednesdays — $450 | Saturdays & Sundays — $675 | Additional photo-session time is prorated in 15-minute increments at $45 per hour, on any day.

Senior Annual photo sessions for individuals are conducted up to 90-minutes, exclusively on location where we produce as many images, from as many poses & wardrobe changes as you like. If studio-only is the call instead, then $100 is added to the base cost for the extra production & resources required.

If photography is ordered from in-the-studio AND on-location, then $225 is added to the base cost for the extra production & travel time required. The total photo-session, including travel time between studio & location, is limited to 180-minutes [3-hours], and prorated time starts thereafter.

Choosing a location to be photographed at is not always easy to determine, but something that I ask every client to consider making on their own. Determining a place that is meaningful can positively amplify the experience, establish ambiance, and support the narrative about distinctive character & personality traits. Most of the time, the things we like to do logically inform the choice of location, but if nothing special comes to mind, I’m pleased to offer assistance and suggestions as requested.

One image selected for publication in the school annual [yearbook] is custom retouched and stylized as full-color, duotone, or black-and-white, to meet or exceed your expectations and approval prior to being released. Direct transmission of this final image to your school, by their deadline, is included.

Preview & Experiment in the Fotomoto Print Preview Gallery. Image editing assistance is offered when viewing your private gallery to make the best selection possible from your experience. Prints are NOT included in the base cost. Print orders can be made directly from un-retouched "proofs", and the final, retouched image posted in the gallery.

Choosing an appropriate background and image stylization is based on the context of where these images are to be published, and it’s an important aspect of the photography that I ask every client to determine. Background choices range from high-key [white] to low-key [black], and from traditional muslin to smooth neutral or color gradients to texturized color gradients. I’m pleased to offer assistance and suggestions as requested.

Please note that I have worked with families that called for their twins to be photographed. In cases such as this, the rates remain the same per individual since the level of production, time commitment, and quality of experience per person remains the same. Yes they are twins, and they must of course be photographed together, which I am pleased to do at an appropriate time between their respective photo-sessions at no extra cost, but they are individuals after all.

Headshots for Branding Collateral

Low Risk Investment with High Returns | Year-Round Bookings

As the communications professional of an organization it’s important to build a brand with continuity. The portraits of individuals in the workgroup appeal to the target audience as a unified whole when the photography is consistent in regard to the lighting of figures, what the background signifies, and whether the images are stylized in color, duotone, or black-and-white. If your organization seeks strong visual continuity for it’s promotional objectives and branding collateral, please consider contacting me!

I have worked with large & small organizations that needed their entire workgroup to be photographed. In cases such as this, rates are adjusted per individual since the level of production and time commitment per person is packaged. A workgroup is typically called to be photographed together, and within an appropriate time frame I am pleased to include this as part of the package. View a Sample Gallery.

To capture uniqueness, expressive character, and part of their story...

...people choose Quatrain fotographic, because here, portraiture is poetry.

When choosing to work with a seasoned professional with over 30-years experience you’ll discover that excellent customer service simply requires time, and the time well spent working for all portrait clients is mostly hidden behind the scenes. From initial contact to farewell, the average client receives about 10-hours of time in the attention & managment their photography session. The portrait session by itself is probably the most important part of the whole experience, but it’s certainly not the only part.
